The Andros AGILE Pruner (or pre-pruner) implements provide table grape farmers with a significant opportunity to decrease pruning costs. The pruner is designed to work in vineyards with wye trellis structures. Because the Agile Pruner is more efficient than hand crews, many farmers see a less than one year return on their investment. The implements are offered in a single-head model, which prunes half a row per pass, and a dual-head model which prunes an entire row per pass. Additionally, the Agile pruner cuts the hardest canes to reach, making the final pruning easier for crews.
THE MECHANICS
The Andros Wye Trellis Pre-Pruner is outfitted with a controller that is mounted on the tractor. The tractor driver opens the cutting arms at the touch of a button, allowing the pre-pruner to pass around the trellis arms without damage. Then, releasing the trigger allows the cutting mechanism to come back together to continue pruning.
Cutting
Patented slow speed cutting system simultaneously cuts and strips canes from trellis. (US Pat: 9,247,691)
Controls
One handed control of all machine functions allows adjustment on the go.
Hydraulics
Powered by tractors hydraulic system (open or closed center), requiring only 15 gpm capacity.
Mounting
Universal front 3-pt mounting provides excellent operator visibility, while allowing rapid setup and disassembly.
