In order to maintain optimal water quality, we recommend implementing a side loop for protein skimming and ozone treatment.
This means that approx. one third of the water fed through the bioreactor at any given time is diverted for protein skimming and ozone treatment. This process removes fine particles from the water flow.
Ozone works by oxidizing organic material, causing it to transform into CO2 gas and by causing larger particles to flocculate into larger particles that will be removed as foam in the protein skimmer.
