Product overviewThe ARPAL MS-80BD (Classic series) is a combined gasoline-powered garden shredder with two input hoppers — the most popular ARPAL shredder for home use. The side hopper takes branches up to 90 mm in diameter; the top hopper handles thin branches, bark, vines, raspberry canes, leaves, grass and other garden waste. One compact machine processes everything a garden produces in a season. It complies with EU safety directives and is trusted by customers in Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and beyond.
The MultiCut system with calibration sieves delivers chips of a controlled fraction: with the standard 25 mm sieve the material is shredded until it passes through — clean, even chips for solid-fuel boilers, stoves and fireplaces, mulch, compost and smoking. Optional 15 and 20 mm sieves give finer fractions; removing the sieve entirely gives maximum productivity with a natural fraction. Please note: this shredder is designed for branches and garden waste — not for boards, beams, slabs or other sawmill material.
Key features- Two input hoppers: side hopper feeds thick branches (up to 90 mm) to the cutting disc; top hopper feeds garden waste directly to the hammer section. Both hoppers have protective curtains against flying chips.
- MultiCut combined cutting system: a drum of two 10 mm CNC-machined discs — a cutting disc with 2 blades chops branches, then 10 hammers and 10 auxiliary blades on four guides refine the material until it passes the sieve; the drum is balanced after assembly; UCFL flange bearings.
- 2 LineCut cutting blades in ISO 60WCrV7 (1.2550) tool steel, induction-hardened to 60 HRC over a ductile core; hammers and auxiliary blades in impact-resistant AISI 5140 steel.
- Calibration sieves: 25 mm included as standard; 15 and 20 mm available separately; operation without a sieve possible for maximum throughput.
- PowerGuard friction clutch protects the engine from overload: if a branch stalls the cutting mechanism, the clutch disengages and the engine idles instead of stalling.
- Easy Start clutch engagement near 1500 rpm — smooth, stress-free startup for both operator and engine.
- ARPAL Total Protect safety package: hopper geometry compliant with EU garden machinery safety norms; impact-resistant curtains on both hoppers; belts, clutch and pulley fully enclosed in double-sided guards (quick to remove for service).
- ErgoBase functional design: 4 mm steel body; the top hopper detaches in seconds via two quick-release locks (no tools) — the shredder then fits into a compact van (Fiat Doblo / VW Caddy class); large Ø 400 mm pneumatic wheels and a balanced center of gravity — tilt it by the top hopper handle and roll it anywhere; support leg for stable operation; premium electrostatic powder coating that keeps the machine corrosion-free and "like-new" even after years of outdoor use.
- Options: additional blade and hammer sets; calibration sieves 15 mm and 20 mm.
