The plowshares for the moldboard plow are the most important pieces, because they cut the furrows during tillage. To this end, for a clean cut the plowshares must have a very accurate edge and a much wider ridge to withstand the pressure of the moldboard plow that works on soil at a medium high depth. The moldboard plows do upper tillage work, it is one of the best pieces of farming machinery to get rid of weeds and parasites.
The size of the plowshare determines the width of the cut and the amount of soil turned over by the moldboard plows. The tillage should not exceed 80% of the width of the strip of land cut. Moreover, the working depth should be between 60 and 80% of the width of the ploughshare used on the moldboard plow.
