Stratiolaelaps scimitus (= Hypoaspis miles)
Stratiolaelaps scimitus, formally known as Hypoaspis miles, is a brown and robust predatory mite that inhabits the top layer of the soil where it feeds on harmful soil dwelling pests, such as thrips pupae, larvae of fungus gnats and shore flies. It can even survive for several weeks without prey.
Stratiolaelaps scimitus has already shown good efficacy in many soil and potted ornamental crops.
