Phytoseiulus persimilis
Throughout large areas of the world Phytoseiulus persimilis is used as a very efficient predatory mite against spider mites. A Phytoseiulus mite is highly voracious and consumes daily about 20 spider mite eggs or larvae, 10 protonymphs or 5 adults. Under normal circumstances a Phytoseiulus population grows faster than a spider mite population and a single female predatory mite can lay high numbers of eggs during her life time. P. persimilis is able to clean up a threatening spider mite hot spot within days.
Phytoseiulus mites can be applied on several greenhouse vegetables and ornamentals such as tomato, sweet pepper, cucumber, melon, eggplant, strawberry, bean, gerbera, rose and several pot plants.
