The AR Palm Oil model has been specially designed by Caron for the use in particular crop plantations, like palm oil plantations. Compact and easy to handle, it can transport up to 2,200 kg of palm oil fruit and then unload into collection bins: a tripled capacity compared to the transporters previously most used within the plantations, thus guaranteeing a notable reduction in working times and halving fuel consumption compared to a traditional tractor with trailer. In order to face the management and supply difficulties of spare parts in these often remote plantations, Caron has developed a vehicle where the operator can apply any equipment needed to fulfil the work cycle. Spare parts and parts subject to wear and tear have been homogeneously designed in order to simplify warehouse management and speed up the training of maintenance workers. The particularly tough construction of Caron vehicles, combined with permanent four-wheel drive, central articulation, and the use of wide-section low-pressure tyres, allows to unload the weight on 4 wheels instead of on just the 2 wheels of a traditional trailer. This means a lower impact on the soil and continuity in the harvesting cycle, as the vehicle can work without sinking into muddy terrain and therefore without interruptions even in periods of intense rain. The articulated version is characterised by hydraulic steering on the central articulation and ensures a very small turning radius with the rear wheels following in the tracks of the front wheels. The “scissor” lifting platform system with rear tipping allows the fruit to be unloaded quickly and easily into the collection containers.
