An important feature of side shift rotary tillers is that they till soil both from the center and the sides with respect to the centerline of the tractor. This allows operation in areas where the tractor can not reach due to its height (for example, under trees or near greenhouse walls). The gearbox always remains in the center so that the drive shaft always opérâtes in a straight position, while the whole machine body shifts sideways.
