The angles of the bottom of the hopper bottom silos are 45 and 60 degrees. These angles produce easier flow of the grain. However, 45 degree bottoms are used to store grains, 60 degree bottoms are used for animal feed, humid grains or low viscosity fluids.
CSI hopper bottom silos are produced in a range starting from 5 tons to 1.000 tons capacities. Generally they are operated in continuous discharge mode. They are preferred due to the low cost energy consumption and low operational costs. Special steel structures, chassis and platforms have been developed for hopper bottom silos. These steel structures have been placed under the silo unit in order to raise the silo off the ground. These combined systems have been designed for easier and healthy loading into the wagons.
