Description

Dalin pocket black & white is a non-transparent 3-layer film for covering asparagus. It has a black and a white side while it incorporates all advantages of the Dalin pocket product series. It is employed as a second film when the cultivation has been activated by a thermic film. However, it can also be applied in conjunction with a thermic plastic film, superimposed on the latter providing earliness and high quality asparagus. Dalin pocket black & white offers high quality asparagus since it keeps the covered area dark and moist hence provides the ideal conditions for cultivating asparagus. Furthermore, it provides effective eradication of the weeds. The film also allows the farmer to regulate the yield on a daily basis by turning the film on its white or black surface according to weather conditions and market demand. Having the black surface on top, the film collects the sun radiation and activates the asparagus. During very hot days or when harvesting has to be controlled, the film can be turned over, with the white surface on top, reflecting the sun light. The temperature underneath the film is reduced, however moisture is retained hence the asparagus can be grown under normal conditions. The quality of the asparagus is ensured under any weather conditions since any damage to the asparagus spears due to high temperatures can be avoided. Dalin pocket black & white is a film used for several seasons and it can be collected from the field having the soil in its pockets so that the film can be readily applied for the next season.
