The XDC series sand media water filters provide high quality filtration outcome in water with high contamination of organic material such as algae or even clay. Backwashing process can be manual, semi-automatic or automatic. Operation: During the operation water enters the two chambers of the filter through the inlets and diffuses equally on the media beds. Dirt particles and organic materials are trapped on the media surface. Clean water passes through the media layers and flows out through the diffusers. The cleaning process is effected per chamber by closing the inlet valve of the significant chamber allowing water to enter from the bottom lifting the media and releasing the dirt particles that exit the filter through the top drain pipe. During the cleaning phase the system, supported by the other chamber, continues to filtrate. Advantages: Two chamber device which allows continuous water flow during the cleaning procedure. Minimal space requirements, cost-effective solution for small installations.
