The most popular method of soil disinfection makes use of film in combination with a disinfectant. The film covers the soil and the disinfectant is released underneath the film or in the soil. Many of these disinfectants (like Methyl Bromide) attack the ozon layer. Hence the tendency to phase them out and to replace them by less noxious alternatives.
Next to disinfection films based on LDPE and/or LLDPE, Hyplast developed a number of special films with a very high barrier against Methyl Bromide and other disinfection agents. Result: an effective soil disinfection with less disinfectants and also much more environmentally friendly thanks to a lower emission of detrimental substances in the air.
