The word “mycotoxin” means the group of substances product by the secondary metabolism of mould which are able to develop on foodstuffs with high quantity of glucide and lipide. Recently, the problem of mycotoxin presence becomes very important, above all for its great diffusion in food like cereals, legumes, spices, and oil dry fruits. The big worry shows from everyone is about the problem of the analitycal controls of the raw materials necessary for a correct check and the conseguently segregation of the toxin contaminated quantities.
The legal aspects of these raw materials controls in economic and temporal terms give many cares since the analitycal determinations ask incompatible times with the normal activity of different trade who work agricultural products. For this reason, we want present MONITOX 500 in order to resolve the AFLATOXIN problem, special the AFLATOXIN B1, Monitox 500 in fact, is the new instrument to monitor the AFB1 in cereals, legumes, spices and dry fuits.
This instrument is able to determinate the presence /absence of contaminations (aflatoxin) caused by the development of mould in different foodstuffs. MONITOX uses the capacity of the UV rays (365 nm) to light in a fluorescent way the contaminated grains by aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2. The contaminated grains are easy to see, since they put on a color from fluorescent yellow to yellow with electric blue points. It can be also some colors like fluorescent orange, but these ones are not important because they don’t indicate the presence of Aflatoxin. They indicate the presence of bacteria which are normally in the ground, but are not dangerous.
