The delta scraper is fitted with a special spoiler for straw, which guides straw and manure to the centre of the scraper, so that the manure does not enter the area where animals lie and the scraper pulls evenly and lightly. This means cows don’t have to walk through manure when they step over the scraper.
When the delta scraper is on its return pass, the arms fold together so that a minimal amount of straw and manure is dragged back. When the scraper is in its folded position, it can be driven over, which is useful when a vehicle is used to spread straw in the stable. The cows are not hindered by the delta scraper, as it makes its return pass with its arms folded in. The guide profile in the centre of the floor keeps the scraper stable.
Depending on the roughness of the floor, the scraper needs about 1.5 times the width of the manure alley to fold out completely. JOZ offers standard delta scrapers with the option of a quick opener, which means that the delta scraper is opened mechanically and requires less space before opening enough to scrape the entire width of the manure alley. For more info, see the bottom of this page.
The delta scraper is also the perfect solution for barn alleys that vary in width. The scraper adapts effortlessly to the varying width of the manure alley, without leaving any manure behind.
