Small onion bulb planter to a large extent simplifies the process of planting onions for seed or for early consumption. So far planting was extremely labor-intensive, manual activity. The proposed machine makes it easier and significantly reduces the time of planting. The planter consists of the frame with jockey wheels, the tank for planting material, planting set driven from PTO of the tractor cooperating with kneading wheels and the platform for service workers. The planter can plant simultaneously 5 to 7 rows of onion with 20 cm spacing in a row or 4 rows with spacing 27 cm. The planting material is set in the machine tank and it is derived by the planting set during work. Every working section is equipped with a special shaker shoe which prevents from blockage of small onions and moreover it influences on more accurate planting. Bulb metering element is mounted in the section a special rubber feeder that gives the bulbs with a sliding movement to the tubes which end outlets are located just above the coulter. Small onion planted in this way is placed in the ground and then pressed by the kneading wheels. The described machine achieves efficiency of approx. 0,6 ha/h. The planted is mounted on the tree hitch point suspension system and is adapted for cooperation with tractors of power min. 30 HP.
