The VAHVA E models have spikes instead of jaws, and they have been designed for handling logging waste, stumps, and materials in the recycling industry. The E models or so-called energy grapples are suitable for use with forwarders, splitters/crushers, and excavators.
The E models come in six different options, manufactured with C frames (the so-called rotator models). Spike grapples fitted with quick couplings for excavators are available in the KC line.
The E models are available with 4, 5, 7 or 9 spikes. In model markings, the number after the letter “E” indicates the amount of spikes, e.g. the C42 E5 grapple has five spikes.
The structure of VAHVA grapples is strong and durable, because they are manufactured from high-strength structural steel. Furthermore, the spikes of all of the E models in the C and KC line are made of HARDOX 400 wear- and abrasion resistant steel. This ensures that the spikes can handle wear and tear even in challenging use.
All of our grapples have two reaction links (expect 21), which means that the mechanics are symmetrical, and torques have been minimised, and the structure can handle wear and tear better.
