General purpose head for thinning and final felling of small stems
500H is a powerful alternative for even later thinning and final felling of small stems. The physical dimensions are suitable for a thinning head, and, thanks to high-quality frame materials, the weight is also low, only 640 kg. 500H is a harvester head equipped with additional knives that make the handling of even large trees effortless. The additional delimbing knives increase productivity even with larger trees, something that harvester heads in the same weight category are not able to achieve.
The NCU3 control system adjusts the grip force of the head to the size of the stem being handled. When larger and heavier trees are felled and moved, the grapple arms together with the front and rear knives and the roll cylinder apply a strong grip force on the stem. When feeding starts, the grip force is reduced gradually to minimise friction. The control system has a diameter limit set for reducing the grip force. If necessary, the settings can be adjusted via the control system, but usually the harvester head works best with the standard settings.
