Description

BASF´s highly effective alternative to pure acids As an easy-to-handle, user-friendly and at the same time highly effective alternative to pure acids, we have developed our buffered acids, also known as non-corrosive products. With our non-corrosive products you can easily keep your feed free from microorganisms while enhancing animal performance. Pure organic acids such as propionic acid and formic acid are widely used for feed preservation in the form of liquid acids under the trade names Luprosil® and Amasil®. Both products are efficient to use, but they require high-quality equipment and careful work-safety measures for their use because they are corrosive. In the past we therefore recommended the use of Luprosil® propionic acid (99,5 %), instead of the more dangerous formic acid. As an easy-to-handle, user-friendly and at the same time highly effective alternative to pure acids, we have developed our buffered acids, also known as non-corrosive products. The process of buffering attenuates the biological activity, so that acids go from corrosive (caustic) to irritant (non-corrosive). Key benefits of BASF´s buffered acids -Less high-quality (e. g., stainless steel) equipment needed -Not classified as “dangerous goods” by the regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods -Enhanced safety due to a higher flash point than pure acids
