Ensiling bag system manufactured by Plastar San Luis S.A. using the three-layer coextrusion system.
BENEFITS_
Silo dosification for animal feed is made possible, cutting losses due to oxidation.
APPLICATION_
For high production dairy farms and intensive cattle breeding.
When silo use is needed, use only what you need.
BAGGING CONDITIONS_
• MOISTURE: Optimal moisture is between 58% and 68%. Moisture above those levels may result in butyric fermentation, and sugar and protein loss. Moisture below those levels may delay fermentation and even prevent it from occurring.
• OPTIMAL CHOPPING SIZE: Chopping size should be between 8 and 12 mm.
• LOSSES WITHIN THE ENSILING PROCESS: Losses depend directly on the distance between the field to be chopped and the place where silo bag is filled.
• LOSS FOR EFFLUENTS: If moisture is above 75%, a great number of juices rich in soluble protein and sugar are lost by leachates.
• DEGASIFICATION: Nitrogened oxides should be eliminated for adequate anaerobic fermentation.
• LOCATION AND CARE:
- bags have to be placed in high places, with leveled and compacted, weed-free floors with good drainage.
- location has to be protected against livestock and rodents.
- Silo bags have to be placed in easy to reach areas, making fodder extraction possible.
• LOSS FOR SILO OPENING:
On many occasions loss occurs by oxidation, reducing the quality of the silos. However, loss is less with silo bags than in BUNKER silage.
