The RINNTECH dry wood borer is used to extract drill cores from dry wood and wooden components in order to examine them as test specimens in the field of dendrochronology and wood research for the analysis of growth rings. For the analysis of growth rings (dating / dendrochronology, ...), wood research (cell structures, wood density, ...), as well as for condition analysis of wood and glued laminated timber.
The borer consists of a ring-shaped front cutting edge, has three main cutting edges and spirals, as well as a central cavity in which the drill core Ø=7 mm has enough space. With a special core ejector or the core cutting hook, the drill cores can be removed and further processed without destroying them. The universal shaft of the dry wood borer bit is compatible with all conventional drill chucks of a (cordless) drilling machine.
Application:
• Core sampling/ drilling cores
• Dendrochronology & wood research
• Archaelogy & historical/ monument preservation
• Wood analysis for wooden structures, wooden poles, wooden playground equipment, GLTbeam
Advantages:
• Compatible with conventional (cordless) drilling machines
• Small drill hole Ø=16 mm, with a Ø=7 mm drill core
• Shaft expansion inside to prevent blocking and breaking of the drill core
• Self-centering (no shoulder guide necessary)
• Better chip removal, smoother running (due to three main cutting edges and spirals)
Accessories per workstation:
• Core cutting hook
• Core ejector
• Cleaning and re-sharping set
Features:
• Total length in:170 mm or 250 mm
• Drill core length in:130 mm or 210 mm
• Drill core diameter:7 mm
• Outer diameter:16 mm
• Shaft diameter:13 mm
