This is a trap designed to capture xylophagous insects that attack woody crops, such as pomegranate, walnut, chestnut and carob trees, vineyards, etc. It is also useful for capturing the red palm weevil Rhynchophorus ferrugineus as an alternative to the CROSSTRAP® MINI trap, in areas at risk of theft or vandalism. The trap consists of two black vanes set in a black funnel that lead the captured insects to a collection cup with a large capacity. The upper part of the vanes is fixed to a green lid with a hanger. The attractants should be hung directly from the holes of the vanes. This trap is suitable for capturing xylophagous pests such as Apate monachus or ambrosia bark beetles (Xyleborini) that affect chestnut trees and vineyards. It also functions as a detection trap for invasive species or any other species captured with the CROSSTRAP® MINI trap, in areas where discretion of the trap takes preference due to public use or risk of vandalism.
