ECONEX NIDAL MODEL ICONA encourages the nesting of insectivorous forest birds, mainly parrots, such as titmice and titmice. Parids and other insectivorous birds provide important ecosystem services by efficiently and selectively consuming large quantities of insects during the breeding season.
CHARACTERISTICS
ECONEX NIDAL MODEL ICONA is made entirely of natural wood, resistant to weathering, with a thickness of 1.7 cm. It has a support at the entrance and an entrance hole optimized for bird access. This hole is covered by a plastic plate that prevents woodpecker damage.
INSTALATION AND MAINTENANCE
The nest box should be located between 2 and 5 m from the ground, on a tree or a wall, out of the reach of cats and people.
The most appropriate orientation is south-southeast, avoiding direct sunlight and sheltered from the prevailing winds.
Damage should be avoided if installed on trees, so it is recommended to hang from a branch by using the supplied wire hook. If it is placed on a wall or wall, it is better to place it between some vines, anchoring it directly to the wall.
Between October and November, when the nest has been abandoned, it is recommended to empty its contents and clean the interior with boiling water, to kill the parasites that could infect the chickens the following spring.
DO NOT HANDLE WHILE THE CHICKENS ARE RAISING.
