Description

ARKTA is a winter feed pea variety known for its long stalks and typical leaves, making it particularly suitable for mixed cultivation with winter cereals. This variety is valued for its strong early biomass development, early ripening, and high dry matter yield. ARKTA has excellent winter hardiness and attracts pollinators with its striking two-toned inflorescence featuring a deep purple center and pink edges. Key Characteristics: Suitable for both feed and green manure purposes High biomass formation in early growth stages Early ripening with high protein yields As a leguminous crop with large seeds, winter feed peas like ARKTA can provide up to 120 kg of nitrogen. While they can be cultivated as a monocrop, they are especially well-suited for mixtures with winter cereals. Short-stalked, leafless varieties are ideal for single-crop stands, while long-stalked, leafy varieties benefit from the support of companion crops like rye or triticale. When paired with forage rye, winter feed peas contribute significantly to green fertilization strategies. Mixed cultivation with triticale or winter rye, or rye grown for forage or whole-plant silage, results in high-protein, easily digestible forage. A proven effective sowing ratio for mixtures is 35% winter feed peas and 65% winter cereals.
