Kale Seeds - White Russian
White Russian was initially cultivated by pioneering American horticulturist Frank Morton, developing a white alternative to the Red Russian already growing so well in his home in Oregon during the 1980s. Kale is a cool hardy favorite ideally sown direct in early spring or late fall. Earliest starts begin indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting. Plant 3-4 seeds 1/4 inch deep per cell, or 6 in. apart in garden in Organically rich, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Germinates in 3-10 days, thinning back to 1 plant per pot or every 8-12 inch as true leaves establish. Extended summer heat will cause greens to bolt and become bitter.
