PLACEMENT & CULTIVATION
Amaranth adds bold texture to summer gardens, with wooly cascading flowers and coarse leaves. It thrives in heat and humidity and grows quite tall in richer soils, adding a tropical effect as the centerpiece to a bed of annuals or in the back border as an accent. Planted in abundance, it is an effective hedge or screening plant. Also, they are often grown as a cut flower, fresh or dried. Easy culture, stake in windy areas and provide well-drained soils. Later in the season, birds will visit, feasting on the abundant seeds.
