Joint highest yielding malting barley
Florence is new to the AHDB RL 2023 and is the joint highest yielding malting variety. It is a potential variety for the brewing industry and is under test with the MBC.
Florence is also under test in several European countries.
With yield advantages across all UK regions over the leading market varieties, combined with superb brackling resistance, early ripening, good disease resistance and excellent grain quality, Florence will be in demand.
