With this Thaler-Lader 2230 derated L/S/H model, we are now entering the series of larger models, but larger only in terms of robust and sturdy physical appearance and basic equipment.
The new EU emissions standards of Stage V - in vigour since 2019 - were drawing a strong line: 19 KW or 25 HP, below this line - the strict standards are achieved even without exhaust gas treatment technology. That is why a 25 HP engine with 1331 cc displacement is mounted in this loader. Originally this high displacement was made to supply more HP in previous generations of engines. In our 2230D it is now downrated to meet the 19 KW respectively the 25 HP, it allows us as manufacturer to mount it without any exhaust gas treatment system. It is good for the budget and for the rear chassis because no changes needed. That is for sure.
As far as the drive line is concerned a hydrostat is flanged to this engine. A transfer gear box brings the power from the rear axle via cardan shaft to the front axle, below the chassis you see easily the cardan shaft passing. Because of the two-stage hydrostat we can now drive up to 11 or 12 km/h in the 1st stage, 0-20km / h in the 2nd stage. It is a pleasure to press a button and to feel the acceleration.
Th minimum width of 112 cm, the wide angle of centre articulation of 55°, both allow working in confined and narrow spaces, and due to a little more length and a little bit more operating weight we were able to increase the tipping loads for the 2230D in comparison to the 2226 and the 2220.
Just for information: the model name provides information about the maximum height of shovel pivot pin of the lifting boom.
