The Channel Counter is particularly useful during splitting, grading operations or lice treatment, as it provides critical data on the number of fish in each size group. This data allows commercial aquaculture operators to gain key insights upon which they can base ongoing feed planning. The Channel Counter also provides a documented counting report and it records images of the actual count for future validation. The Channel Counter is ideal for accurate counting and size estimation of large numbers of live fish from 50g upwards. The Channel Counter has been designed to accurately count at the high capacities achieved by modern fish pumps and fish transport systems on wellboats. It is the best choice for obtaining reliable and verifiable stock information when splitting, grading and harvesting.
The Channel Counter can be delivered in three sizes and two versions
The B-Type
The B-type is used when it is not required to lead the fish into a pipe after counting. Commonly used on barges when fish are being pumped directly between cages.
The Y-Type
The Y-type is used on large grading machines when the fish are transported from the grader in a pipe after counting. The pipe diameter can be up to 20″.
