The constant velocity drive allows power to be transmitted from one axle to the other, maintaining a constant angular velocity on both axles, even when the angle of the axles varies.
A single constant velocity drive is used when the single hub operates at minimum angulation. The transmission with two constant velocity hubs is used in cases where the working angles are large and/or unequal.
