KIRPY, a Grand Dame Over 100 Years Old

Created in 1912 by Mr. GARRIC, KIRPY experienced its first success with the construction of a special plow, the “Décavaillonneuse,” allowing the tilling of the ridge, a heavy task previously done by hand.

The first plows were manufactured in the locksmith and automobile repair workshop of Mr. POCQ in the center of Layrac. The success was immediate. After the winegrowers of the region, all of France came to know KIRPY plows. André GARRIC chose the company’s trade name, KIRPY, by contracting the diminutive of his wife and son’s names.

After a fire that devastated part of the factory, Mr. GARRIC expanded the plant by constructing three new halls, allowing for the installation of forging, machining, tooling, and assembly workshops, as well as various storage areas, including one for spare parts.

Over 100 years of experience in soil work and over 40 years of experience in stone removal.
